The representatives of the Y7, the youth engagement group of the G7 2020’s call on the leaders of the G7 countries for a stronger and more coordinated global response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Shabka supports their recommendations and engagement.
Together, Y7 representatives defined the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on young people, underlining their needs, responsibilities as well as engagement to mitigate the impact of the crisis. The communiqué has been put forward to the G7 and other world leaders to be well considered and spread across the international community. The EU delegation has put particular emphasis on, among others, the importance of resilience approach in project design, mental health protection, need for transparent and efficient response to education uncertainty and necessity of human rights protection under the extraordinary measures.
